Barokah Effector Drive 900 Pedal Review (Marshall JCM 900 Pedal)

Barokah Effector Drive 900 Pedal Review

This is the Barokah Effector Drive 900 overdrive pedal.  The Drive 900 pedal is hand made in Indonesia using quality parts, quality construction and attention to detail which can sometimes be overlooked on a market flooded with pedals.  Based on similar tones to what you would expect from  a  Marshall JCM 900 amplifier, this pedal can give you anything from smooth chuggy drive tones all the way through to very musical higher gain tones.  The Drive 900 is a great pedal for not only a clean amp for for layering on top of an already off-clean amplifier which will make it appeal to many different players and styles of amplifiers.

What I really love about it is it feels like an amp more than it does a pedal and it really responds well to different picking attack and guitar volume.  There’s something fun about winding the drive all the way and letting it howl.  If you’re a fan of pedals like the Fulltone Plimsoul or Visual Sound Open Road, give this one a try. The pedal keeps the nice warm round bottom end in your sound in tact while giving you two main sounds via the selection switch in the centre position.  With the selection switch to Silicon the pedal is in lower gain with more output volume, with the switch down in LED mode the pedal is not as loud but is packed with usable distortion tones.

You may found a lot of Overdrive / Distortion pedals has awesome gain stage out there, but only few of them has comprehensive option to generate your signature tone, and Drive 900 has it. Whether you need more gain, tight low-end response, a British midrange, or a thick and juicy lead tone, Drive 900 will lead you to get there. In Sillicon mode, you get the “Mild tube” Over Drive style that’s great to response your dynamic picking, but the “punch” is still appear. While in LED mode, Drive 900 will deliver you to an extra gain, a thick and juicy bottom end, and clear high frequency that are perfect for your lead note. Mid control has it own unique feature that will add “Depth” in fully Counter Clock Wise  position, and turn to “British” mid style when you boost to Clock Wise position. Bass, and Treble control also has great contribution to giving you the “detailed” string definition. And the last thing that you shouldn’t forget, this bad-ass will not rip off your wallet compared to our build quality and the rugged construction that you needed as a partner for your everyday gigs.
