My Top 3 Electric Guitars for Blues
My Top 3 Electric Guitars for Blues
In terms of bog-standard electric guitars that you can buy from any shop, these are my three favourite guitars for blues guitar music. That said, you can also pick from a number of variations of these three but if I had to pick just three this would be it.
1. The Gibson ES-335 Guitar
This is on the list because it’s a classic old-school design that really works great for blues. It’s a bit more classic in terms of tone and design of a Les Paul and can easily find a place in most blues guitar collections.
ES-335 style guitars are played by the likes of Freddy King, BB King, Chris Cain, Eric Clapton, Melyvn Taylor, John Mayer, and many others.
2. The Fender Stratocaster (or similar)
Any variation of this guitar is great. Just think Clapton, Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, SRV, Robert Cray and 2,000,000 others.
3. The Telecaster
Mostly known in country music to the uneducated the Telecaster can provide some amazing blues tones. If you haven’t heard one in action check out Albert Collins for example!
If I had to pick a non-standard type of guitar for blues it would most certainly be a Little Crow Corvinho SD. This thing is a killer blues machine made by Little Crow Guitars in Australia.
