EWS Brute Drive Pedal Review
EWS Brute Drive Pedal Review
The EWS Brute drive is perhaps made most famous by rockin’ electric guitarist Eric Gales. The newest version also features an Eric Gales Signature edition with some costmetic changes but on the inside, it’s the same to my knowledge. I have seen him use this exact pedal on his board on this video. My friend picked up this distortion pedal in a second hand shop in Melbourne, Australia for a bargain, it has since become his #1 pedal of choice for running his Blues Deluxe Amplifier on clean with. You can get anything from sweet overdrive all the way down to distortion and fuzz-like tones. This is a very simple pedal, which is part of it’s appeal. It has three main controls and a boost button for more “oomph”.
Brute Drive (BD-1) is a new distortion pedal designed by EWS. Compared to it’s extreme cousin, Fuzzy Drive (FD-1), the BD-1 is designed for smooth, classic distortion sounds. It has intuitive controls and a classic layout design; Volume, Gain and Tone, this versatile pedal also incorporates a Boost Switch for amplifying the low-mid/gain up to 10db!
Housed in bullet proof aluminum and as always true bypass, the Brute Drive (BD-1) will be an instant classic!

[usr 4.8] The EWS Brute Drive pedal will appeal to a lot of players. If you’re a low gain player, you’ll enjoy it and conversely if you’re a higher gain pedal it has more than enough guts to make you smile. Because the Brute Drive is so versatile it will appeal to a lot of players from Blues, Classic Rock, and modern Rock styles. Check them out if you get a chance as they totally rock.
