This is a list of my 5 favourite guitars I played at Jerry’s Lefty Guitars in Sarasota, Florida. I really enjoyed all of these guitars. Sound wise and feel wise they were all great. I absolutely loved the tone of the Dean guitar but the Floyd Rose is a bit too complicated for a guy like me. If it had a regular tuning setup I might of pulled the trigger on it for sure.
Getting good tones out of a Gibson Les Paul Style Guitar
In this video I show you how to get a much better rhythm guitar tone as well as a better lead guitar tone using the volume and tone controls on a Gibson Les Paul style electric guitar. This particular guitar is a Tokai but it doesn’t matter which brand you have, you can apply these tips and get better tone quickly and easily. Most people don’t do this when they first start using a Les Paul so I hope it helps.
In this video I am showing you the differences between a Les Paul electric guitar and an ES-335. Both of these guitars are Japanese Tokai guitars and are basically references of late 50’s Gibson electric guitars. Tonally, there’s a not as much difference as I thought but there still is just enough to notice it – especially on clean. When you add some overdrive into the mix, it’s pretty hard to tell the difference to the untrained ear.
